Mount Southington Ski Area’s Position on Helmets
The use of helmets is a personal decision best made by each skier or snowboarder, or their parents/guardian.
Education about a helmet’s benefits and limitations and an evaluation of the ability and characteristics of each individual skier/snowboarder will help to make an informed decision.
Mount Southington Ski Area encourages responsible behavior on our slopes, including the personal decision to use a properly fitted helmet. The best defenses against injury are to understand the inherent risks of skiing and snowboarding, to use common sense and to adhere to “Your Responsibility Code” and the Connecticut Law.
